Sweeney's Saloon

Sweeney's has a Recession Happy Hour that features $2.50 pints of beer and $0.50 tacos from 3-6pm weekdays and 11am-6pm on Saturday and Sunday. They also have a I'm So Dang Poor Man's Special which occasionally is a burger and fries for $2 and a free soda.

Firelake Grill House

From 4-6:30 every weekday, they have $2 sliders in many flavors from cheeseburgers to pulled pork. They also have a couple $5 pizzas.

Minnesota Landscape Arboretum

The Arboretum is free on Thursdays after 4:30 from April 25th to October. It's free all day Thursdays from November to April 24th.

Jonathan Padelford Sunday Brunch

For $30 per person, a full buffet with drinks and music can be had aboard the Jonathan Padelford as it cruises the Mississippi River from Harriet Island in Saint Paul. It runs from noon-2pm on Sundays from June through September.

Uptown Art Fair

A scatterbrained but fun event with food, live music and local art on the first weekend in August.

Minnesota History Center

The Minnesota History Center features, among other free tours, a Global Hotdish Variety Show every fourth Saturday at 2pm.

State Capitol Tours

The State Capitol has free tours Saturday from 10am-3pm and Sunday from 1pm-4pm.

Dharma Field Zen Center

The Zen Center offers free daily meditations and Saturday lectures at their Woodbury location.

AMC Theatres

On Wednesday nights, AMC offers tickets at matinee prices, $6 each, and free popcorn.

Minneapolis Farmers Market

The Minneapolis Farmer's Market is open every other Saturday from 9am-12pm during the winter and every day from 6am-1pm during the Spring, Fall and Winter.

Saint Paul Farmer's Market

The winter market is open every Saturday from 9am-noon until from November-April. All other months it's open on Saturdays from 6am-1pm and Sundays from 8am-1pm

Mill City Farmer's Market

The market is open every Saturday from the end of April to the end of October. It even has a winter market every third Saturday from 10am-2pm.

Twin Cities Pride Festival

Usually the last weekend in June, the Pride Festival features the most amazing parade of the year in the Twin Cities on that Sunday.

Bell Museum of Natural History

Free all the time, the Bell Museum has loads of great taxidermy and diaramas as well as some great photography exhibits and special events.

A fun place with cheap food and board/video games you can play at your table for $1. They're open at 8am on weekends and until 1am every night.

They feature great bubble tea and a mock duck Vietnamese sandwich for under $5.

Minnehaha Park, Falls, and Sea Salt Restaurant

Open from April through October, the park and falls are free to roam and Sea Salt Eatery is open every day from 11am-7pm with cheap seafood and Suryly on tap.
